About our Automotive and Mobility coverage

Automotive accounts for the largest share of our published research, and the reason is structural. The industry is running two transitions at once: powertrains are electrifying at very different speeds by country, and the vehicle itself is becoming a software product with a long service tail attached. Together those shifts break the old habit of modelling a national car market as a single number, so we treat demand, component supply and the aftermarket as separate analyses.

Electrification is the thread through most of the catalogue. That means battery chemistry and cost curves, charging build-out across residential, depot and high-power segments, second-life and recycling economics, and the used-EV market that sets residual values and therefore lease pricing. It also means the segments that electrify on their own timetable, including two- and three-wheelers, light commercial vehicles, heavy trucks and off-highway equipment.

Because adoption is so uneven, much of this coverage is country or region specific. Charging density, fuel and electricity pricing, import duty, local assembly rules and financing availability differ enough that a national report is a genuinely different piece of analysis, not a re-scaled global one. Where a market is small but structurally interesting we say so rather than inflating it.
