Energy research lives or dies on whether it distinguishes announced capacity from financed capacity. Development pipelines are long, permitting is slower than press releases, and interconnection queues have become the binding constraint in several major markets. We model what can physically be built and connected inside the forecast period, and treat everything beyond that as optionality rather than volume.

Cost is no longer the only variable that matters. Levelised cost has fallen far enough that system integration decides the value of a marginal megawatt more than technology price does, through firming, curtailment, transmission availability and demand-side flexibility. That is why storage, grid equipment and flexibility sit inside this vertical rather than alongside it.
