PHEVs are defined under Article 2, Paragraph 5 of the Act on the Development and Promotion of Environment-Friendly Motor Vehicles and verified against the Clean Air Conservation Act; mild hybrid electric vehicles using 48-volt architectures and conventional hybrids without external charging capability are excluded.
